About
Justyna McEwan has been repairing woodwind and brass instruments for over 20 years. She qualified with the City & Guilds Advanced and Higher Award certificates in 1996 and 1997 after completing three years training at Merton college (now South Thames College). She works in the Kent, Sussex and Surrey region and to date has repaired over 15,000 instruments.
Justyna grew up in a musical family, learning the clarinet from the age of 7. She currently plays lead clarinet for the East Grinstead Concert Band (EGCB). As a playing musician, she understands the importance of having a musical instrument working to its full potential, but also the inconvenience of being without it.
Justyna is also a professional member of the
National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (N.A.M.I.R), an organisation set up in 1993 to encourage a high standard of workmanship and customer care. It also provides a means of information exchange on techniques and parts availability.
